The Forclaz Trek 100 name appears in older gear coverage, while Decathlon’s current women’s listing uses MT100. Treat the older video as a perspective on the product it shows, not proof that every currently offered MT100 has identical materials, fit, or weight. A useful purchase starts with the exact product reference and the role the jacket will fill.

Forclaz MT100 down jacket: match the current model
The current Decathlon women’s Forclaz MT100 page identifies product ID 8858265 and advertises 800 CUIN fill power. We use that listing as a current reference, not as confirmation that the older Trek 100 video depicts that same revision. The page’s fill-power figure is not a complete warmth rating.
| Information | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Product ID | Match the listing, label, and review version |
| Fill power | A down-quality measure, not the total quantity of insulation |
| Garment size and weight | Compare the size you will wear, with its actual features |
| Fit and coverage | Try over your base layer and beneath weather protection |
Do not carry forward the old article’s price, color range, or jacket weight without a matching current source. A discounted listing is not better value if its revision or fit is unclear.
Give the jacket a job in your layers
Decide whether you want compact insulation for stops, a cool campsite evening, or casual use. A jacket chosen primarily for sitting still may not be the layer you want to wear throughout a strenuous climb. Plan how you will add or remove it as effort and conditions change.
Try it with the base layer and outer shell you intend to carry. Raise your arms, reach forward, and check the hem and collar. Look for room that permits movement without excessive loose fabric bunching under the shell. A women’s cut is still not a guarantee that your usual size fits.
See our layering guide for the wider system. Buying a jacket should solve an identified gap, not add a second garment that performs the same job as one you already carry.
Separate down quality from total warmth
A fill-power number alone cannot establish how warm two jackets will feel. The amount and placement of insulation, construction, coverage, and fit also matter. If a listing omits fill weight or other details, acknowledge that missing information rather than creating a numerical warmth comparison.
Avoid attaching a single safe temperature to the jacket. Moving, resting, wind, moisture, and individual comfort change how much insulation is needed. A successful afternoon walk is not a meaningful substitute for planning a long cold stop.
Our down-jacket selection guide explains the distinctions to make when comparing different insulation designs. Compare jackets in the same intended role rather than treating every down garment as interchangeable.
Plan protection and care
Do not interpret a water-repellent finish as a rain-shell replacement. Pack a way to protect insulation from expected precipitation and follow the care label for the exact garment. If a seller’s claims do not state waterproof construction, do not supply that promise on its behalf.
Try the packing routine before departure. Check where the jacket will be accessible during a stop and how you will keep it separate from wet equipment. Read cleaning and drying instructions before assuming that the treatment used for another jacket is appropriate.
Inspect zippers, cuffs, and seams while the return option is still available. Resolve sizing at home; discovering restricted movement or insufficient coverage at a remote campsite is an avoidable problem.
Our buying assessment
Consider this jacket family when a compact down layer has a clear place in your kit and the current women’s model fits your complete layering system. Compare a fleece for a different active-layer role or another insulating jacket when the required coverage and warmth are different.
Before buying, confirm the current product ID, chosen size, care requirements, and any specifications essential to the comparison. We do not claim the older reviewer’s testing duration as our own or presume current fit from that video.
